About Medicine Hat
The band was born from Sean, Ben and two Jasons meeting at Shoreline Community College in 1990. Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, Motown, Gang of Four, and the new romantic movement all spilled into their ears along with everything played in Seattle at the time. Sean's vocals sailed beautifully over an angular hardcore surface.
By 1993, they were playing to packed houses throughout the Northwest, including Sublime's first Seattle show, X's tour for Hey Zeus, and a show in Tri-Cities where TchKung nearly torched the HoeDown down. A dedicated, mostly all-ages following kept them playing constantly, and they were the subject of a photo shoot in Rolling Stone covering "normal weirdness in Seattle".
